Eco-printed with giant geranium and eucalyptus leaves and then processed in a silver-dollar bath, this scarf has beautiful watercolour quality and tones of purples and oranges with accent stripes at each end. Large enough to wear as a scarf or shawl, you can really get creative with this piece and wrap and tie or pin it as a gorgeous top layer over a winter base layer.

The gauzy weave of this scarf means that it is luxuriously soft and the silk and wool blend makes it warm enough to wear all the way from New Zealand's autumn through to spring and even into summer as a beach cover-up.

Climate Change Scarves

Monsoon flooding in North India took a toll on small businesses reliant on weaving these silk and wool scarves. The majority of the pieces they had in stock were damaged and unsuitable for sale... That's where my supplier stepped in and bought their damaged stock, helping the small businesses (and community) reliant on their weaving to rebuild!
I've bought some of these scarves to mend, print and sell to you. I've carefully hand-patched holes (where necessary) and eco-printed each scarf using foliage from mine and my friends' gardens... adding character to continue the story of these beautiful pieces.

Eco-printing is a method of transferring the natural shape, patterns and pigments of leaves onto fabrics using natural mordants and assists.  It relies on the alchemy of nature rather than chemical inks. I gather the leaves from my own garden and local area before thoughtfully and carefully placing them onto fabric to create unique prints. Each piece of fabric I create is as unique as the plants I gather the leaves from - no two pieces are exactly the same.

Luxuriously smooth and naturally hypoallergenic, silk is gentle to wear. A natural insulator, silk helps to keep you cool in summer and warm in winter.

Silk requires less processing to print and dye than plant-based fibres so uses less water and generates less waste than other fibres. It is also pesticide free and completely biodegradable.

Each piece I make is designed, naturally dyed (and/or printed) and made from
